Council Awards Ceremony Recognised Talented Young Herefordshire Artists

Some of Herefordshire best young artists have been honoured for their creative talents after scooping the top prizes in a special competition run by Herefordshire Council. The competition gave young people the chance to showcase their artistic skills by expressing what they like best about living in the county.

We were delighted to learn that four out of the nine winners were actually from Walford Nursery & Primary School.

Huge congratulations to:

Beatrice (Y2) - Overall Competition Winner

Florence (Y3)

Harry (Y3)

Lottie (Former Y6)

Prizes were awarded by Cllr Jonathan Lester, Herefordshire Council's Leader, Cllr Ivan Powell, Cabinet Member for Children and Darryl Freeman, Director of Children and Young People.

Copies of the winning artwork will be hung on the walls of the Plough Lane offices for staff and visitors to enjoy.

Daryl Freeman, the head judge of this competition, said: "The competition has been a fantastic success and has given us the chance to see how artistically talented our young people are in Herefordshire.

Well done to all of our winners!
