Learning Behaviours

Learning Behaviours

Pupils need to consistently display a thirst for knowledge, understanding and a love of learning when being taught with all of their peers, whilst working on their own or in small groups.  Positive learning behaviours impact significantly on the progress of every child within lessons.  Pupils’ attitudes to learning should therefore be of an equally high standard across all subjects.

The following statements reflect the ‘learning behaviours’ that Ofsted expect to see in all schools.  To ensure that all children understand the meaning of positive learning behaviours, a new ‘Walford Code’ has been introduced:

Work hard

Achieve and improve

Learn from others

Focus

Open-minded

Resilience

Dream (aspirations)
